ECCLA and Councils Partner with Get Ahead Colorado

Get Ahead Colorado, an initiative of the Piton Foundation at Gary Community Investments, aims to increase the number of eligible families receiving the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC), the Child Tax Credit, and other valuable credits that help families get ahead. This year, Get Ahead Colorado has partnered with ECCLA and local Early Childhood Councils to share resources with families across the state.

The Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) is a federal and state, refundable tax credit that benefits low-to moderate-income families and individuals. The EITC reduces poverty by closing the gap between a family’s income and what they need to make ends meet. The EITC is also proven to have a positive impact on: maternal and infant health outcomes, children’s school performance, and work and earnings potential for families. Eligible families may be able to access free tax preparation help at one of the many sites across Colorado.

ECCLA and Early Childhood Councils are supporting the Get Ahead Colorado initiative. This initiative benefits thousands of Colorado families and provides important financial resources that can be used to access child care, health care, and other basic needs.
