ECCLA Releases Brief Highlighting the Impact of Early Childhood Council Workforce Support Strategies Across Colorado

Wheat Ridge, CO (Oct. 24, 2022) – In recognition of the critical work that Colorado’s Early Childhood Councils do to address the need for a qualified and supported early childhood workforce, the Early Childhood Council Leadership Alliance (ECCLA) has released the Early Childhood Council Impact Brief: Workforce Supports to highlight those efforts. While the early childhood education field has not received the sustainable investments it needs to fully meet the needs of children, families, and educators, Colorado’s Early Childhood Councils have continued to undertake the challenge of keeping the system going across the state through a variety of innovative approaches and strategic community partnerships.

The highlighted approaches focus on addressing three key components: expanding pathways for the early childhood workforce, supporting access to and quality of child care, and sustaining and growing the early childhood field. All Early Childhood Councils are working to build the workforce in their communities, however this brief highlights strategies from the following Councils:

  • Arapahoe County Early Childhood Council
  • Bright Futures (Delta, Montrose, Ouray, San Juan, and San Miguel Counties)
  • Broomfield Early Childhood Council
  • Chaffee Early Childhood Council
  • Cheyenne, Kiowa, and Lincoln Early Childhood Council
