TEACH Impact Story: Cameron

The TEACH Scholarship allowed me the opportunity to explore my early childhood career path and discover my passion for leadership and advocacy. After earning my Associate degree from Community College of Aurora, I decided to finish up the remaining classes needed for my Director Certificate. Thanks to the support of TEACH, I was able to finish my certificate and then go on to the University of Colorado Denver to work on my Bachelor’s degree in Education & Human Development. Previously, I was working as the Administrative Assistant for a nonprofit low-income early learning program in Denver. My career plan changed from wanting to be a Center Director to wanting to be a leader in the early childhood field, so I applied for a position at the Early Childhood Council Leadership Alliance (ECCLA) and was able to upgrade my career. My goal in life is to serve our Colorado communities by being a leader and a fierce advocate for families, teachers, professionals, and children.
