Originally from eastern Iowa, Cameron has lived in Colorado since 2014 and has worked in the state’s early childhood profession for over seven years. His journey in early childhood education began in 2017 at Warren Village, where he served as the Early Learning Center’s Administrative Assistant. During his time at Warren Village, Cameron worked with unhoused and unstably housed low-income families while supporting administrators, teachers, and center staff.
Cameron joined ECCLA in November 2021 and currently oversees the Early Childhood Coach Credential Scholarship. Prior to managing this program, he administered ECCLA’s Back to Work Scholarship and Rural R.U.N. Scholarship. Cameron is deeply passionate about justice, equity, and belonging and serves as the Chair of ECCLA’s Justice, Equity, and Belonging Collaborative, an advisory committee of professionals committed to the process of ensuring equity, dismantling systems of racism, ableism, sexism, and other systems of oppression while supporting young children, families, and early childhood professionals to have a voice as their true selves in Colorado’s early childhood system.
Cameron earned an Associate degree in Early Childhood Education from the Community College of Aurora in 2019, as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Education & Human Development from the University of Colorado Denver in 2022. He holds a Level 6 Early Childhood Professional Credential, Trainer Credential, Coach Credential, Early Childhood Teacher Certificate, and Director Certificate. Cameron is also the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Watercolor Insights LLC, a consulting firm dedicated to fostering growth and excellence in Colorado’s early childhood profession.
